What cats think of academic discourse

So, this morning, I'm working on my CCCC paper. And I'm thinking, hey, this isn't so bad. I've got some things to say.

Then Simon the Siamese cat decides to walk across my keyboard. I look back at my CCCC draft, and I see that Simon has left a comment:

P0op-

I kid you not.

Simon can spell? Maybe he's trying to tell you that you should be writing on the literacy development/composing process of cats?

Teakettle, the tortoiseshell descendent of a Siamese, is also a great hand at typing. But she never makes actual words. And now I know why: she's only part Siamese.

This is the funniest post I've read all day.

Years ago, my cat jumped on my keyboard and wiped out twelve hours of writing (a video script). Yes, the cat lived. And yes, I learned to save my work after that.

One of my professors at the University of Toronto described taking a student's near-final Ph.D. thesis with her on a vacation so she could add thorough notes. Her cat got up on the table and peed all over the dissertation. (The professor hung up all the pages to dry, photocopied them, and then sanitized the office copier.)
